
I am a carb addict!! Really, it’s sort of shocking. I always knew I liked bread and other chewy, flour-y, deliciously doughy products, but my meals today have just been out of control. Oatmeal for breakfast. Lunch with two fat slices of foccacia. Snacks including pretzels and tortilla chips. Dinner including a huge hunk of 5-grain bread. When did I become the Pillsbury dough lady?
There’s a part of me that just wants to quit eating all of this stuff cold turkey in an effort to get back to a more diversified diet, but that also makes me nervous… I run a lot, and I have a half-marathon coming up in 3 weeks. Obviously I can get carbs from other food sources like fruits and vegetables, but is this sort of elimination diet going to kill my energy and ruin my runs? I need a nutrition intervention!
